Community FAQ & Troubleshooting

Frequently asked questions, common client pitfalls, and root infrastructure guidance.

? Client Troubleshooting

Q: A plugin is crashing my Revenge client. What should I do?

A: If you recently installed or updated a plugin, disable it immediately in plugin settings. The author likely hasn't updated it for your Discord client build or an unhandled exception occurred in the patcher hook. Check crash logs via diagnostics if available.

Q: My Revenge isn't working at all.

A: Please provide specific diagnostic information. "It isn't working" is not actionable, as client failures can stem from Discord build incompatibilities, corrupt Hermes bundle cache, broken native Xposed hooks, or network timeouts. Provide your Android OS version, Discord version code, and whether you are using the Manager or Xposed.

Q: Where did my custom fonts and themes go?

A: Upstream Discord updates (notably 345.9 and newer) break the native font hooks and theme asset injection. Refer to the [[guides:tutorials#how_to_downgrade_revenge_3459_and_above|Downgrade Guide]] to step back to build 342016 or 344 where font descent calculations and theme tokens function properly.

Installation & Account Questions

Q: How do I install Revenge?

A: Follow these standard steps: - Visit the official repository: Revenge Bundle Releases. - Download the Revenge Manager APK (if unsure, select the Unrooted release). - Open the downloaded file and allow your browser to Install from Unknown Sources when prompted. - Launch Revenge Manager and tap Install on the home screen. - Grant Revenge Manager permission to install unknown apps when prompted, then proceed with the installation prompt. - Open Revenge and sign in with your email/phone and password.

Q: Why can\'t I sign in with my Passkey or FIDO2 Security Key?

A: When Revenge Manager patches Discord, it resigns the application package with a custom signing key to enable Over-The-Air (OTA) bundle reloading. WebAuthn and Passkeys enforce strict cryptographic app signature verification against Discord\'s official Google Play signature. To use hardware security keys or Passkeys, you must root your device and use RevengeXposed, which injects into the official unmodified APK.

Q: How do I install a 2nd instance of Revenge on the same device?

A: You can install side-by-side cloned instances directly through the Manager: - Open Revenge Manager. - Go to Settings > About. - Tap Version Number 7 times to enable developer mode. - Return to settings and select Developer Options. - Change the Package Name to a custom identifier (e.g., ''app.revenge.new''). - Return to the Home tab and tap Install. - A second independent Revenge app will install alongside your existing build.

Q: Are all the plugins in the community channels trusted?

A: Plugins listed in official channels like 🔌・plugins have been vetted. Proxy signing layers no longer exist, so plugins execute code directly inside your Hermes runtime. Always review plugin source repositories or verify the author\'s reputation before loading third-party plugins.

? Rooted Setup (Without Manager)

Q: What if I am a rooted user and want to run without the Manager?

A: Rooted users running Xposed framework injection enjoy maximum performance and passkey compatibility. The recommended software stack:

Component Role Recommended Tool
Zygisk Backend (Required) Injects into the Android zygote process. [[https:*github.com/PerformanC/ReZygisk
Xposed Framework (Required) Modern ART hooking environment. Vector by JingMatrix (FOSS, clean architecture, controversy-free).
Xposed Module (Required) Loads Revenge runtime into official Discord. RevengeXposed official module.
Package Downgrader Prevents data loss during APK rollbacks. Core Patch N by Wang Han (aviraxp).
Play Store Detach Blocks Google Play auto-updates. zygisk-detach by j-hc (detaches com.discord from Play Store binder).

Plugin Configuration FAQ

Q: I installed UwUify and it uwuifies every message I send. How do I make it command-only?

A: Open Discord settings, navigate to Plugins > UwUify Settings, and toggle off Auto Convert Messages. You can now invoke it manually whenever desired via the slash command.
